バグダッドよりこんにちは！
9月の初めは、モスリムにとって大事なお祭りの一つである犠牲祭でした。
旧約聖書にも出てくるお話ですが、アブラハムが、神のお告げで、「信仰の証に、息子の命を捧げなさい」といわれまさにイサクを殺そうとしたときに、神の許しがくだり、イサクの代りに雄羊を屠ったというお話。
この時期イスラム教徒は、羊などを屠ります。
お肉は3つに分けて、自分たち家族のもの。そして、近所の知り合いにおすそ分け、残りは、見ず知らずの貧しい人に配ります。
さてJIM-NETの支援しているバグダッドの中央子ども病院では、入院中でお祝いに参加できない子どもたちに、お菓子の詰め合わせを配りました。
みんな大喜びでした。
来年は、もっと予算をつけて、遠方から、避難して病院に通っている貧しい人たちにお肉を配りたいです。

『Eid al-Adha (in Arabic عيد الأضحى）also called the “Sacrifice Feast”, is the second of two muslims holidays celebrated worldwide each year, and considered the holier of the two. It honors the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son, as an act of obedience to God’s command. Before Abraham sacrificed his son, God provided a male goat to sacrifice instead.
In commemoration of this, an animal(sheep or cow etc) is sacrificed and divided into three parts: one third of the share is given to the poor and needy; another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbors; and the remaining third is retained by the family.
Muslims also exchange greetings and visit each others on this occasion .
As JIM-NET staffs we distributed cookies ,fruits,milk and other drinks to the hospital admitted cancer children because they can not participate celebration with their families ,friends and neighbourhoods.
They were so happy and appreciating these JIM-NET ‘s kind gifts .
We hope that we can celebrate the next year Eid by having enough budget to distribute meat to poor patients , their parents and to emigrants
